CPCS A58/A59 Excavator 360° Novice Training Course

Endorsement offered is 'A' Tracked **£95.00 + VAT per person to add on lifting operations endorsement** This course is for the award of the CPCS red trained operators card for 360° Excavators. This course is for people with limited or no experience of operating a 360 degree tracked excavator above 10 tonnes.

Who is the course for?

This course provides instruction in correct operation of Excavator 360 above 10T for operators who will be using such machines on site. It provides training as referred to in the laws relating to work equipment and health and safety, and is accredited by the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS).

Course Content Includes:

• Role and responsibility as a plant operator
• Basic construction, names of components and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
• Principle components, basic construction, controls & terminology
• Relevant regulations & legislation
• Pre-use, start, running checks and close-down procedure
• Negotiating rough ground & steep inclines
• Manoeuvring in confined spaces
• Configuring for excavating duties
• Hazards, underground & overhead services
• Excavation & ground types
• Grading, levelling & spreading
• Placing materials into vehicles & hoppers
• Lifting, moving & placing basic slung loads
• Travelling with slung loads
• Shutdown & securing procedures

Completion of the course:

Candidates will take a verbal theory test, and complete a practical assessment. Successful candidates will receive a 2 Year CPCS Category A59 Red Trained Operator License

Those with 2-3 years or more experience can add on the NVQ assessment at the same time to progress straight to the 5 Year CPCS Blue Competent Operator card

Prerequisites

You must have a basic understanding and knowledge of current Health & Safety issues.

The CITB Operatives Health & Safety touch screen test must be current and in date. (Completed within the last 24 months)
