Slinger / Banksman Course
Who is the course for? This course provides training for delegates wishing to act as slinger/banksman when moving loads by crane in the workplace. Duration of the course will be 1-3 days, depending on the experience of the delegates. The course provides training as referred to in the laws relating to health and safety and work equipment, enabling employers and employees to fulfil their legal obligations. Training is available on customer’s premises only.

• Employer’s and employee’s legal responsibilities
• Pre-use inspections and selection of lifting tackle
• LOLER regulations 1998
• Load limitations
• Slinging methods
• Different types of loads
• Accurate guiding of loads
• Centre of gravity
• Hand signals
Completion of the course:Candidates will take a short written test, and receive a course handout summarising the topics covered. Successful candidates will receive a certificate of competence.
