PTS Personal Trackside Safety
Who is the course for?
All workers and staff who need to access Trackside locations. This course is essential for any persons requiring to walk / work on or near the line. Without this training operatives will not be permitted to access any trackside areas.
Course Content Includes:
• Identifying track layout
• Understanding positions of safety
• Recognising signs and areas of No Refuges
• Have an understanding of the Sentinel Scheme
• Demonstrate how to cross an open line
• Identifying safe systems of work
• Making an emergency call to the signaller
• Protect the line in an emergency
• Working with AC Electrified lines / DC conductor lines
Completion of the course:
Candidates will take a short written test, and receive a course handout summarising the topics covered. Successful candidates will receive a certificate of competence.
