Advanced Scaffold inspection

Target Group:      Any person(s) who have attended a basic Scaffold Inspection Course or who have experience in inspecting scaffolds and are now required to inspect more advanced scaffolding structures

Aims:                     The aim of the training is to provide candidates with the necessary information on the correct procedures to be adopted when inspecting advanced scaffold structures.

Objectives:            At the end of the instruction the candidates will be able to:

Have an understanding of the statutory regulations.
Understand types of advanced scaffold structures.
Have a basic knowledge of methods of construction.
Be able to interpret design drawings Identify hazards and problems in working scaffolds.
Understand the reasons for ties and loadings.

Course Content:     Review of Health & Safety legislation & regulations.

Review of basic scaffold inspection course
What is a scaffold, types, uses and limitations
Types of scaffold to include:
Cantilever drop scaffolds
Birdcage
Slung scaffolds
Truss out scaffolds
Heavy duty fans
Stair towers
Loading bays
Using correct ties or kentledge on scaffolds.
The use of hoist towers on scaffolds.
Practical inspection exercise.
Inspection and tagging documentation.
Multi choice test paper.

Safety Requirements:    As the instruction is partially carried out on site, the client’s site
regulations/requirements must be adhered to.

PPE must be worn at all times throughout the instruction
